Bond Reduction

With any legal case, it is imperative that a person be able to assist in his or her own defense. This is extremely difficult when a defendant is incarcerated in a local jail pending findings, charges, or indictments. You are presumed innocent, yet you are separated from your life and supportive network of family and friends.

Indeed, based solely upon the allegation, a court may set a very high, perhaps even unattainable bond. In addition, criminal litigation may be prolonged dependant upon the court schedule and the complexity of the case. Even when a person is eventually acquitted, the period they spent incarcerated was emotionally trying and lost time.

The fact is, excessive bond restrictions may not be necessary or fair. In these situations Ian N. Friedman & Associates, L.L.C. will go to great lengths to have the bond reduced. Our firm's lawyers will move swiftly to file the appropriate motions with the courts of jurisdiction.

We take great time and care to familiarize the court with our client, address the allegations and persuade the court that a bond of low amount or even a personal bond (signature only) is sufficient. In the cases where a person is being held without bond a writ of habeas corpus will be filed and litigated, because with limited exception, no person can be held without bond.

The lawyers at Ian N. Friedman & Associates, L.L.C. have handled bond reductions and modifications at municipal, state, and federal levels, at the trial court levels as well as before appellate courts.

The fight that is shown in moving to have our clients released from jail is the same fight that they will see until the very conclusion of the case.

Our approach to handling Bond Reduction

The lawyers at Ian N. Friedman & Associates, L.L.C. attack each case with a team approach, by assembling lawyers with skills that correspond to the specific elements of a given case.

We believe that diligent, thorough preparation is the only way to effectively defend any case. We place great emphasis on investigation, motion practice and trial presentation.

Throughout our working relationship you will remain in constant contact with different members of the firm depending on the specific topic or issue that needs to be addressed. You will constantly be kept apprised of the status of your case and at any time you will have the opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns that may arise.

This law firm does not handle a high volume of case. As such, we are able to create comprehensive and effective defenses for our clients. At the conclusion of a matter, our clients know that this law firm did not leave any aspect to chance.
